William Bromley (politician) : ウィキペディア英語版 | William Bromley (politician) William Bromley (1699?-1737) was a British politician. ==Life== Bromley was second son of William Bromley, Speaker of the House of Commons. He was elected upon the foundation at Westminster School in 1714, at the age of 15. He was a member of Oriel College, Oxford, and was created D.C.L. on 19 May 1732. He was elected Member of Parliament for in 1727. On 13 March 1734 he was put forward by the party opposed to Robert Walpole to move the repeal of the Septennial Act. Parliament was soon afterwards dissolved, and Bromley lost his seat. He was elected in February 1737, on the death of George Clarke, to represent the University of Oxford, which his father had represented from 1702 till 1732. He died the following month, 12 March 1737. His portrait is in the Bodleian Gallery.
